La Huelga General
On Wednesday, Nov 14, there was a huelga general (general strike) in all of Spain. Luckily Granada's strike consisted mostly of parades/chants and a little vandalism, but in some other cities there was some violence. All the shops/bars/restaurants/public buildings/ public transportation was closed that day, but unfortunately my art history professor Ricardo, refused to cancel our midterm that was scheduled for that day. All the other teachers had cancelled classes, but not Ricardo. About 10 minutes into the exam, a group of strikers entered the school and began their chanting and whistle blowing. For about 15 minutes I just sat staring at my paper unable to concentrate with the clapping and shouting of these strikers! That's why class should have been cancelled!
